100 Women Who Care donate to Historic Beaufort Foundation
The Historic Beaufort Foundation has received funding to repair the water-damaged ground level floor at the Verdier House.
The 100 Women Who Care group presented a check for $13,900 to the foundation Feb. 28.
Once repaired, the space will serve as the museum, gift shop and educational classrooms for children and adults.
Staff hosted the group for a tour and tea reception followed by a private garden tour guided by expert Frances Parker.
100 Women Who Care Beaufort was started in January 2014. Nine nonprofit organizations in northern Beaufort County have collectively received $131,850 from the group.
Meetings are held the second Tuesday in January, April, July and October. For more information, go to www.100wwcbeaufort.org.
